Pre-sightseeing III - Time Machine Version
We rounded out the holiday weekend with a trip back to ancient Rome and a double-header of crazy emperors, Caligula and Commodus. We started off with The Robe (1953) and finished off with Gladiator (2000). AMC suspects that The Robe would have been better on the big screen (to get the full effect of the CinemaScope!) and of course Gladiator was better on the big screen, although ALM thought the images of the Colosseum were still pretty cool and can't wait to see the real thing. ALM on the Colosseum: "GRANDEUR!" "HUGE!" "I want to stand by it to see how big it really is."

Yes! Just let me stand next to the colosseum already! As well as by all of those cool fountains... Can't wait to see Bernini's Elephant statue as well! I will be in awe for years to come.
